My wife just called and said she hit some road debris and cut a tire on her 07 997 S (19's) in the DC area. Local Porsche dealer had one available (no one else) and more than a few shiny pennies were needed. Maybe it's time for some Bridgestones next time.

Don't know if its that far off. Michael Pilot Sport - 205-19/35 were $600 installed/balanced, from a tire shop that I trust. Rather than use the used/abused/dirty components for removing and mounting the tires on the tire machine, they mounted brand new ones, so the wheels don't get marks from the machine.
Porsche may have been higher due to the hourly rate difference.

Pirelli 355/25-19's are $1,100.00 each and only available from Europe!

That's a price per tire.

Michelin has a new 325/30-19 Pilot Sport Cup series available. It's a killer and under $500.00 each.

Tire Rack would have been a better choice, but when you're travelling and trying to make a schedule, waiting a few days just isn't in the cards. No doubt, the overhead at a Penske Porsche dealer is higher than a a mail order warehouse. Still hurts though.

Tire Rack does not have them nor do any others except CEC from Novitec and then one has to buy the wheels from them as well!

Thus, they have to be air freighted from Europe at price quoted!

Disgraceful!

This is why I am going to the 325/30-19's as they are a dead on match for the OEM 18" tire.

And yes the pain would have been worse.

Very nice Fiorano spider!

Unless there is a huge difference in traction, I don't see myself springing for Pirellis or Michelins again in the future. The price for either tire is absurd, even by high performance tire standards.
