Cold Air Intake

hello,

I wanted everyones opinion on what intake you would recommend? I have a '06 997s. I was thinking BMC. I read some good reviews on it but I was wondering if there is something else out there that I might not be awre of.

Thanks

Raj

If your looking for something to just spend money on for your car dont start at intake it really isnt noticable unless you do the full ecu headers and exhaust. and even after all that money its just 30hp really not that big by the time it hits the wheels.

I like the EVOMS intake .. it probably doesn't add any power; but the sound difference is great.

cold air intake

the tuning people say, you can get better result with the exhaust/header/cat/ECU upgrade, although cost much more. intake only make modest difference. I'd just blocked off my resonator.

If you're looking for performance, one of the best 'bang for the buck' purchases I've made is the plenum (from RSS) - out of all the mods I've done, that was the only one I noticed a real significant performance difference immediately after the install - and aside from the EVOMS intake, was the cheapest.

I'll agree with the others who also mentioned SC - definitely the way to go. I would've gone that route, but I was concerned about potential warranty issues...

best idea- go to an S version of 997

having seen back to back, on track comparisons...difficult to see any performance change overall with air filter change, even headers make little change. Today's version of 911 series makes it difficult to beat the factory...especially with cottage industry out there! Mark
