997 Campaign computer reflash ??
When I picked up my 997 from the dealer on Friday they told me they reflashed my computer while they had my car because there was some new updated program for it. I asked them if it was a recall and they said it was a Porsche campaign procedure. Has anyone had this done besides me?? The service manager wasnt able to tell me what the changes were in the software program.

Done all the time on my 530i BMW.
Made a great improvement to the electro-hydraulic steering.
Many manufacturers do this regularly.
Be thankful they do cause you could end up with a CL500 as I have that M-B can't even fix!

Model year is 2007, its a C2 and I bought it in March 2007 so I dont know the production date offhand but it was probably late 2006 or Jan 2007. How do I find the production date?

Inside the drivers door there is a label pasted to the lower back of the door.

The ECU is flashed.
On Ferrari's with F1 transmissions there is a TCU as well that gets flashed, but on Porsche I believe it's only the ECU.

So if I get my ECU flashed for more HP and the dealers decides to upgrade the computer/ECU.....won't it restore it to factory settings?

More than likely yes. I called my dealer yesterday gave him my VIN# and my car is not affected. Today I am going to APR for their Software upgrade. In any event if the Dealer does reflash after this APR will reflash their software at no charge.

So, you'd have to make sure you did not want your ECU dealer updated if you spend $ to outside upgrade for performance.
