Is it just me or...
you just can't enjoy a nice drive anymore......I'm going home from work and its rush hour and this blue cobra pulls behind me so I'm not thinking much of it. Then I cross a few lanes to the right approaching my exit and the next thing you know he's flying past me cutting me off. So obviously I couldn't just let that fly.....so to sum it up I smoked his @ss and I wasn't even trying.....but anyway it just goes to show all those haters out there.

Don't add to the problem... I'm constantly amazed at what people do these days. I have guys in mini-vans burning out when the light turns green thinking I'm going to race them. I have kids in modified Civics trying to get a rise out of me. I just let it go and feel good knowing I'm not contributing to the madness.

Lol, you should go thank him. He just made you love your car again. Usually I don't bother or waste gas, unless it's a good challenge that will tell me something about my car.

They usually check their review mirror as soon as they pull it off to see ur reaction. A disappointment shake to the left and right will ruin what they just did.

I waxed a base Mustang GT back in the Spring. Was minding my own business, when he pulls up alongside me and kept goosing it...lurching ahead a half a carlength each time. I tried to ignore him, but he was taunting me. So, without looking over, I dropped down into second and let him again fall back alongside me. I layed the hammer down -- and in a virtual eyeblink -- I slingshotted in front of him ... holding an instantaneous 1.5 carlength lead that grew by the millesecond. I let off to make the cloverleaf and left him (hopefully) embarassed. I'd say it was a 10 second race...about 3 carlengths. Don't worry...no humans or animals were harmed during this testing.

I was out on a long road trip recently and a guy in a really loud Mustang GT came up alongside on the interstate and started revving his engine, lurching forward etc. I just kept the cruise on and tried to ignore him. Pretty annoying even so. Eventually he pulled off (probably out of gas from trying to race everybody). I really don't feel the need to race every punk that comes along. It used to be more fun, but racing in CA is a pretty serious offense any more - too much to lose.

tell me about it any VA resident will tell you that the cops here are the worst in the US......you get thrown in jail for certain speed over the limit.........besides these guys don't play.....when I was in Jersey it was a different story.

Tell me about it... I have had fixed up (very modified) VW's and Audi's that would just get a nice thumbs up from everyone.... but now that I have a Porsche everyone and there mother tries to mess with me. My biggest issue is the tailgaters, I swear they just follow ME!!! I change lanes, they change with me even though the other 3 lanes are open... and its not like I am going that fast either (Barely over the speed limit which is slow for the bay area!).
The commute in my Tacoma, eventless with no one getting near me. Why is that? I do not even race these people but they will ride my *** for miles... every once in awhile I get so frustrated that they won't leave me alone I just gas it (if its safe) to put some distance between us. Oh well, I am not getting rid of my car so I guess I will just have to put up with it!

i had a guy and his buddy in a mustang do the engine rev and lay a patch away from a light in San Francisco; he got caught at the next light and he and his buddy looked over at me.
it was warm so the windows were down. i said, "Wow you're fast I've never seen you at the track!" they looked confused

Or does something to your car. Too many crazy people out there. Don't add to the problem is right....and let it go. Your silence also speaks. Imagine you and a Volkswagon next to your roaring the engine....do you really have to floor it. Nop....you can simply roll forward....he knows who really has the bigger *********.

Well to each his own....I wouldn't floor it if it was a VW....besides we all have to die sometime why live life in fear? I like to indulge...its just that I try real hard to be calm but when they awake the beast I can't help it. Besides if you can't drive a beautiful car like this the way it's made to be driven then what's the point of having one...I might as well sell it and get an Accord or Maxima.

Raj - trust me on this... If you want to drive a Porsche as it was designed, join PCA and start going to DEs. You have no idea of how great these cars really are. Then you will have no need to street race and risk losing your license or your life. Also think about this - Porsche drivers already get "attitude" from the general public, so why reinforce that?
If, as you say, you don't fear death and enjoy "indulging" then consider taking up solo high-risk hobbies (base jumping / sky diving for example) to get it out of your system. At least then you won't be breaking the law or risk taking others out with you.
Sorry about the lecture - it's just that I've read too many articles and seen too many videos on car forums about street racers that feel they are in control when something goes wrong and some uninvolved young mother in a mini-van or father on his way home from work ends up in the hospital or morgue. Just a few years ago there was a fellow M3 guy that lost control in the canyons and one or more in the car died and the remainder ended up terribly burned when the car blew up. Things happen...
