How to "add" Nav to PCM?
Hi, I just purchased a "new to me" 2006 C2S w/o the Nav option, but it does have PCM. I'm new to Porsche's after years of Audi's and BMW's, so I have a pretty basic question.
Can I upgrade the PCM in my new car so it has the nav functionality? If so, what's the best (and cheapest) place to buy it? What does it consist of?
Thanks,
Carl

Well, why do that when total labor was only $300? Rest of it is parts.
Nav. system by it self is about $2,200, which includes the antenna. See:

You will still need the cable, that's about $125.00
One caution: NOT all DVD Nav. works in all cars!!! So if you end up buying a used unit off ebay to save a few $$$, you need to be 100% sure it will work with your version of PCM!!! I was going down that road, but ended going against it.

Ditto to all the above. I had it retro-fitted to my '06. It's about 3 hours labor, hence the $300.
You could use your 10% PCA discount if you are a member and the local tech might have a cable or can make one up -mine did and saved me the cost of the fiber cable.
Here's a link to the instructions: if you are handy, it can be a DIY and then a stop at the dealer to activate the programming in the PCM
