Well, we have developed the proper solution for this.

In the past you would loose your dampening with a 1 piece flywheel.

We have worked with Sachs Race Engineering and developed a kit that includes a 1 piece aluminum flywheel with replacable friction plate, spring loaded disc with upgraded linings while still being full faced.

Pedal feel is excellent, gearbox noise is virtually eliminated due to the spring loaded center and all parts are better than factory. There is no clutch chatter unlike conventional single mass flywheel/standard style clutch disc kits.

1 complete kit for all 996 3.4 and 3.6 liter engines. C2 and C4 equipped.
Includes- Lightweight flywheels which is balanced to the clutch assembly. Sachs Race Engineering pressure plate with upgraded clamping load, spring loaded disc with upgraded friction material , full faced, throw out bearing, guide tube and all neccasery hardware.

Might as well do the rear main seal when you are doing this. Because if its not leaking now its only a matter of time before it does.

Feel free to call me for a quote.

Brakes would have more wear also more weight and drive train friction to stop, and to start with the clutch.
