By "tire-friendly", I mean zero toe front, very little rear, and a fair bit of camber. Lots of toe grinds them up quick in my experience.

Could you please explain further...I believe I understand this a little but want to know more. I had my car re-aligned to a track spec and here is what I have right now:

Front Left.................... Front Right
Camber -1.1.................... -1.2
Toe .06...................... .04

Rear Left...................... Rear Right
Camber -1.6.................... -1.6
Toe .24..................... .25

So to throw something else in the mix, you can get a set of Conti Sport 3's for $50 more a set. Anyone have any feedback on the new Conti 3's.

If the Conti 3's were available in the 997 C2S sizes I would get a set. But they are not available (at least not on Tire Rack) in the rear tire size (either the 295 or 305/30 19).

I see that they are available in 305's but not the 295's. They have 9 in the 305's. So is there a reason you would get the Conti's over the bstones?

I hope the Conti 3's are a big improvement over the 2's (had them on my 06' E55) as I was not impressed with the 2's as was the case with most W211 E55ers.

The Contisport, whether it be 1, 2, or 3, are meant to be more comfortable high performance tires and will not offer the same level of performance as the PS2. But I have a feeling that the Contisport 3 will be comparable...probably 9/10th.

I wasn't just the performance that I/we didn't like , the C2 's were very prone to flat spotting overnight and were causing all kinds of vibrations and steering wheel shimmies at speed even when balanced on GSP9700's. Once all of us switched to PS2's the vibrations and flat spotting issues were gone. I actually spoke with Conti quite some time ago about this problem and they acknowledged the C2's had some inherent issues and hinted about a better replacement...perhaps the C3 is it.

Hmm well hearing that I will just have to go with another set of the RE050A for now.

Probably a safer bet. As I mentioned the C3's may have corrected alot of the C2's issues. I wish I knew of some personal accounts of C3 ownership but I don't. You can always contact Conti USA and ask for a tech specialist to see exactly what specific areas of improvement were focused on for the C3 over the C2. When I spoke with Conti about a year ago I got very lucky being able to speak with a very knowledgeable engineering person who was also quite candid about the C2's shortcomings. Best of luck either way .

I was totally unimpressed with the Conti C2's that were OEM on my S4. The RE050's are much better in every regard IMO. Even the cheapo Kumho SPTs completely own the C2s.

Well RE050 it is for sure then. Are yours the N0 or did they actually come out with N1?

I saw you going up the hill! We left the Coffee meet to grab some food w/ Daryl and Esther.

You would have enjoyed it - I'll post up a few snapshots in a few...

Just checked - N0, not N1

Ive been running PS2's on my 997S and they have been awsome. The grip of the tires are great however the treadwear is very bad.
