IMO Sport Chrono would be a must on a 997TT for the overboost but on my C2S I haven't really been very impressed with it.

At the track - I'd rather have real timing. The extra control over settings is nice but not all that...

The throttle in Sport is too sensitive for maximum smoothness on the track (for me at least)

On the plus side - it looks cool lit up at night.

$68K for a trade seems about the number. Safe bet is taking 15% off the MSRP and subtracting 10% for each year. Or if you go by KBB put in the car enter "good" condition and subtract between $1000-$2000. Thats MY quick little guide to what you'll actually get : )

you never get what you want on a trade and if you sell it on your own than you loose the tax advantage

selling/trading it to the dealer allows you to bypass the sales tax...

Buy a car for 100k, trade a car for 60k, pay taxes on only 40k. In GA, that's a $4200 savings and often worth a trade.

Give this some thought....

To resell it, it has to be cheap enough to attract someone's attention. In addition, it's got to be close to a color combo and options that they want. So assuming you find that guy, to make it work, you have to make it cheap enough for him NOT to choose the new car--in which he gets a new, no miles warranty, the color of his choice, and the coddling that should go with a new Porsche purchase. I'm pretty sure that most all of you know that there are LOTS of new Porsches for sale in the USA, with deep discounts (several thousand dollars off MSRP) aplenty. So, if your car has a 90 MSRP, is $80 really cheap enough? Considering that invoice, pre-holdback and factory money (which I don't think there is any on 08's, maybe on lease only), is around 78k, I don't think that works. Don't forget that most big city car dealers will do whatever it takes to get it done. And one other thing, you can't provide financing either. I know, not everyone needs it, but most folks do.
You used to be able to do this in the old days before PCNA decided we needed HUGE dealers with many dozens of new Porsches in stock. Not now. Delicate balancing act. Good luck.
