Looks like some pretty delicate work, but the end result will be worth it I'm sure and customized to your tastes. Good luck. Looks great so far.

LOL,the hardest part is actually building them without damaging the car.The last set of sideskirts I built took a long time, they were for my NSX(sold now)I built the skirts, door piece and rear spats.I originally built them for a one off but it ended up taking off,I couldn't keep up with sales so I sub'd them out to a reputable company to produce.
Here is a sneak peak at them.
Here are a couple more of the porsche ones as well. The good thing is if you do not like them you just try again. It's pretty neat being able to create your own.You just let your imagination run wild.
Trust me with all the stress, time and sweat involved,I will post pics of progress as well as finished product if they turn out,LOL !!

Stacy

Ps the Bmw in the first pics is not mine,I was just showing off the wheels,I bought. The wheels are DPE S-20's in gold leaf(colour)

The NSX sideskirts were a ton of work and were well liked by some of my fellow NSX'rs.I am not sure how many sets sold but it was alot !

Back to the Porsche:
Today is a big day for fiberglassing.BOY,does this stuff STINK ! My house will never be the same.

I really respect your willingness to do it yourself and designing something unique. This may be a dumb question but instead of using what seems like a bondo product for the shaping, isnt there another material you could use such as stirafome or molding clay. It would seem much easier to mold and shape with less mess and chance of damage to your car, then make a mold from that? In any case, great work.

It looks like Bondo but it's not.Two part expanding foam or styrofoam will end up being too thin and molding clay is very expensive. What I am using is a mixture of stuff that is soooo easy to shape and sand, only problem is it takes a long time to dry.Which is good I guess stops things from twisting, heat is a killer! Once the desired shape is formed a thin layer of fiberglass over the top, sand smooth and off to get molds made.
If this new mixture works it will save me a ton of time and money over the ones that I made for the NSX.
This kit will be very subtle, nothing crazy !!
I love the lines of the car now,I just wanted the sides a little bit lower and the overall look a little wider.
I have the techart kit now and noticed it was about 1"-1 1/4" lower than factory.
I am building mine 1 1/2" lower and giving the back end a little more "Booty",LOL!
Thanks to all who have viewed and for all the comments.Hope you like what you see in the future,if not back on with the Techart !

Ok guys,my eyes are full of dust and I am not seeing all that well anymore, lol!
Any input would be greatly appreciated(good or bad) !
Anyway, just a few updated pics.As you can see the sideskirts are very subtle but still show off the wider rear. They drop the sides by about 1 1/2".It's hard to see all the smaller details due to the pics.I have been through a few design changes already and just like I said "comments" welcome. It just helps to hear what others have to say,"So post them up" !

Very nice and it's looking better and better. What are you doing for the front or are you using/keeping the Techart front lip? Can't wait to see the finished product.
