Need new tires

I agree, from what I have also been told, unless we are Michael Schumacher, we won't notice a few pounds difference.

have run pirelli's and bridgestones...PS2s have the best traction, feel, steering ability....maybe slightly less grip in the wet than the Potenza S02s I had but not really worth mentioning. - all experience on 18" stock rims.

what tires can go the most miles on 19"? I use the c2s as a daily driver so i just want comfort(noise and feel), as well as longest life. When i track i throw on a different rim and tire set-up so looking for that daily driver tire?

I would say that the wear rates are all similar, Fronts will get twice the milage that the rears get.

Bumping this thread back up.
Looking for new tires on a 06 C4S. Have the Pilot's, which are a great tire but wondering if there is anything quieter as they have a lot of road noise. The car is in CT, so something slightly better in the rain/sand would be welcome as well. Suggestions? Thanks

My car came with Pirelli P Zero tires and they have been fine in both dry and wet weather.
I've heard that the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 are better though.
As for road noise...
It is a Porsche 911, NOT a Lexus!
EVERYTHING is noisy!
When I drive, I listen to its' natural sounds or I turn on the radio.

The Bridgestones (OEM) has been very good for me. 16,000 on the rears and still grinding away on the fronts. Now at 27,000 plus. Performance in SoCal Wx is great, yet have also taken them into the USA Northwest and over passes in the Alps. Performance in the rain is excellent. The bonus is they last and last and are relatively inexpensive.

I second that. I heard about this brand first from corvette forums. For the money ( $125 per rear tire) they perform great for DD and having had ps2s and stock pirellis, these Vredesteins are THE QUIETEST and perform just as well (my car regularly sees 165mph+). Considering I'm on my 3rd set of rear tires with only 23k miles (awful) and I don't track my car on regular basis these tires are awesome foe the job. Oh and the tread design, awesome. Let's see how long these last. By the way, I'm not cheap, I swear.
