GT3 bumper install

Need some advice, my 997 is midnight blue and the body shop is getting ready to paint and install the gt3 bumper. My question to the experts is, should I have them paint the lower lip and grill midnight blue or should have have them put a gloss clearcoat over the black plastic or just leave it the way it is?

I like the contrasting color but is midnight blue and black are both dark colors so not that much contrast as say artic silver and black. Do you guys think a blue grill would look ok?

thanks in advance

i've had my GT3 for over a month and im on my second GT3 lip. even for your really careful, it will get damged. i would suggest to just keep it oem plastic. no paint and no clear coat.

He is right on. I just ordered 2 new lower lips as I know I'll have to change them out in the future.

definitely leave both stock black plastic. The lip will get scraped up and the vent will chip up.

Can you leave the bottom lip off?
What did it cost to have it painted and installed?
Thanks!

Yes, the grill will chip if you try and paint it, so you might want to skip that.....or make sure they give you a can of touchup paint

I can confirm that it will definitely chip if you paint the grills. Does anyone know if the OEM grills on the GT3 are anodized?
