To be exact, there are 2 PPIs dealer can do - short one and long one. Long one is $260 for 911s. Short one is cheaper.

Lots of people shopping for cars, thought it would be good to bump this thread. Anybody know why the Porsche tech specialist was banned? Seemed to offer a rational explanation for the ranges, but it would be good to know if he was not a good source.

This provided some useful information that was mentioned in various posts put here consolidated into 1 video:

He's a good source.

Scott is still on here as a sponsor for Durametric. He retired his old Screen name. I don't know his new one, but he mentioned it on another thread while mentioning the durametric software he sells.

Softronic is his software product - Durametric is something else.

wow, this seems like a bargain to buy the enthusiast version of the durametric software. Only $287. Here is the link.

Note that the 996 info in the video refers to only 2 ranges from the DME report. The 997 DME stores 6 ranges. Contrary to the previous readouts, you don't get to a range 2 overrev from a money shift. Too bad they don't offer any depth into the 6 ranges. Be sure to check earlier posts in this thread from the Porsche tech for more details on ranges 1-6.
