simple mods for a rookie
Hello everyone,
I am a new member but have been using this site for some time while doing research for the recent purchase of my 2005 997 C2S (blk/blk). Before I begin with my question, I just want to thank all of you for the great insight posted on this board and sharing all the beautiful pics of your cars!
Just for background, my car will be used mostly for street and daily driving. I ordered some new wheels (20 inch HRE P43) and might lower the car a little after I see them on (maybe with PSS9s). I am looking for suggestions on a few easy mods (headers, mufflers, etc?) that could provide a little boost to the overall performance. Please keep in mind that I am new to all this so really want to ease into it slowly.
Thanks in advance and look forward to your suggestions.

Agreed... at the very least, pick up an IPD plenum (available from Road Sport Supply) and try the Softronic ECU (available from Vivid Racing)...An Evo intake is another inexpensive mod you can add. You should certainly notice a difference in performance. If possible, go with an exhaust setup (AWE is great) , which is good for a little added performance, but the real benefit is the new 'soundtrack' your driving experience will have...

My vote goes with this . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...&highlight=f77
I had it on my previous car and felt the overall package was phenominal.

I would say stay away from the E-gay stuff that was suggested, as it generally is of low quality. Someone here bought some headers, and they were crap.
Stick with the other stuff suggested, plenum, intake, exhaust, and maybe a tune.

Take all the money you planned to spend on wheels and bolt-on aftermarket parts and spend it on Driver Education events and Autocrosses instead.
You'll end up a better driver and have a better car in the end.
