997 C4S Cab WHEEL EXPERTS.com Feature Car
Our first feature vehicle of the 2008 season, a 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S cabriolet (Type 997) was purchased by the company new from sales counselor Davis Speight at Boardwalk Porsche in Plano, TX in August of 2007. Finished in rare triple black along with a healthy dose of factory equipment including Sport Chrono, PSE factory sport exhaust, xenon headlamps, and navigation, we knew right off the bat that this particular unit would lay a strong foundation for our next project.
In keeping with Wheel Experts tradition, the first area to be addressed in our new project was the rolling stock. We wanted to be a little more aggressive than we had in the past and keep with an all black theme, so we decided on a set of custom 20” Modulare M6 3-piece forged wheels, measuring 20x8.5 (2” outer lip) for the front and 20x12 (4” outer lip) for the rear. The hand built wheels, finished in a full black powder coat to match the car’s glossy black exterior, were subsequently mounted on Pirelli’s latest P Zero Nero rubber, measuring 245/30/20 fore and a whopping 325/35/20 aft. To further complement the new wheel/tire package, a set of Champion Motorsport lowering springs, specially manufactured by H&R to Champion Motorsport specifications, were added to help set the stance. The springs lowered the car a full 35mm at all 4 corners and really succeeded in enhancing both the handling and looks at the same time.
With the chassis upgrades covered, we proceeded to move on to the rest of the exterior. Since our last white project 997S cab from 2006 was equipped with a Rinspeed INDY aero package, we opted this time around for a TechArt Type I setup to keep things different. This package included an add-on front spoiler, pair of side skirts, and a rear diffuser, all made of durable PU-RIM. A type I rear wing was also mounted to the existing factory deck lid to round out the exterior modifications. The fit and finish of the TechArt components was outstanding, as minimal prep time was needed prior to painting. In addition, the parts fit the car like a glove, making for a quick and painless installation. Stuart’s Paint and Body in Dallas was again called in to handle the bodywork, which they executed flawlessly. A pair of European clear front turn signal indicators and a TechArt chrome hood badge was added to complete the exterior modifications.
We finished up this project by adding a few small accessories to dress up the interior, where the TechArt theme was carried over from the exterior. A thicker steering wheel and aluminum shift **** w/ integrated shift boot were specially ordered from Germany wrapped in a custom black alcantara fabric, while a 3-piece aluminum pedal set and footrest was bolted into the driver’s foot well. A set of custom black floor mats were added as the final touch, again specially ordered from Germany with silver TechArt logo embroidery and matching silver leather piping. These simple yet effective modifications added an additional touch of sport to the interior and rounded out the project nicely.
Wheel Experts would like to thank the following for their contributions to this project: Davis Speight and crew at Boardwalk Porsche, Stuart Singer and Doug Carson at Stuart’s Paint and Body, the entire Modulare Wheels team, and last but not least Mark Carrillo at CEC/TechArt North America. Stay tuned as our next project is right around the corner.

Not sure if I like all black wheels on a black car. Washes out to much and can't really see the wheel at all. The TA is a little better with the silver outline.
Just my opinion.
LOVE black wheels on a white or red car.
