997-ers,
Any of you guys have the Techart, Vorsteiner, or knock-off Carbon Fiber mirror covers on your cars? If so, whered ya get em, do you like em, and can you post some pictures of them? I am interested...i think they will go nicely with my gloss-black wheels and GT3 front lip (on the way).
Thank you!

I don't think people have these on there cars. Personally I think your car looks great without them.

We make the Carbon mirror housings for the 997. You can get the tops, bottoms, or both. They look really good! Here are a couple pics of a GT3 that Sharkwerks did with our mirrors and other parts.

i like the look. I think they would look good on a black car like mine. The $100 ones on ebay look pretty much like the techart ones (at least from the pictures)--has anyone tried these? I think the prevailing opinion here may be that they are 'cheesy' and fake overlays, interested to hear peoples' take on them...

I have them. I have full 100% carbon mirrors from EvoMS. Here's a pic. The car is Basalt Black, and I think it looks awesome on the car. I also have GMG's carbon nose vent on the GT3 bumper... and GMG's GT3 RS rear wing with the carbon blade. I love it. Don't have pics of the wing, and only a shotty one of the vent... so I'll post those when I get the car back. But I have had the mirrors for a while, so have the pics here with me in the hotel.
I figured that some shots of the whole car might help. It's great when the sun hits the mirrors right. I must say, I always get compliments on the mirrors... more than just about anything. They're also one of my favorite things when I'm looking at it in the driveway. NOTE:The car doesn't look like this anymore. They're old pics.
I hope these help.

For our mirrors and the mirrors above, the carbon is layed on a stock mirror, just like all the Factory Porsche carbon interior parts. Some companies make carbon mirro covers that go over the existing mirrors with double sided tape, and it tends to look a bit cheesy. The techart center covers are tape on, but fit good if you like the look.

Those are stock mirror housings covered in Carbon fiber. It's called an overlay, like all stock porsche interior carbon, the carbon is bonded to the plastic part, then cleared and polished. We do our mirrors the same way, and they have proven to hold up very well, and look great imo. Hope this helps anyone looking for carbon mirrors.
