Why don't you take it to your dealer and find out what they will give you for a trade in? (Even if you want to just sell it it will give you a baseline to go up from).

Have you looked through cars.com or autotrader for similar cars?

Try looking for similar pcar options and mileage at car.com or autotrader.com for sale by private individuals in the northeast to get an idea of what its worth or I should say asking price. I have found that dealer asking prices are generally much higher than you will be able to get for it. Getting the dealer trade in price will be the low end. Good luck.

My 2 cents

That's going to be a hard car to sell . My local dealership had an 06 C4 cab for two years on their lot and finally sold it in 08 . It has everything yet it lacks everything when looking at specifics .

It has
Cab - costs more
AWD - "
Options "

It lacks
The "S" 3.8 engine
under 10K miles .

I can see why you bought it for Vermont but the problem with selling it is that an 06 C2S cab will cost the same and cabs sell well in warmer regions .

Mid to upper 60's you may get but you may have to wait awhile to get it.

I do wish you well though.

I would imagine prices are heading south fast due to macro (economy is soft) and micro (new 09 model w changes) coming in couple of months.

The price difference between S and nonS may be not significant but because of that the demand is higher on the S.

you obviously need to shop in this economy more than ever. I recently traded my 05 carrera and was getting trade quotes from 49,000 to 54,000 guess which one II went with? luckily that was the dealer that had the car I wanted the most so it worked out.

I think and hope i will hit the sweet spot (2006) - 1 year left on warrenty with refresh model launch and tough economy all rolled up in one - Sept/Oct of this year - step into a 06S coupe w/ 20k miles for high 50s

I would agree on the 62 if it was a 06 997 coupe . Cabs go for a bit more . Plus the pricing has temporarily gone up supply being low . Dealerships have cleared their lots awaiting 09's and most are holding on to their current cars.

The economy has some effect on Porsche but mostly on new car buys , Turbos , Gt3's etc .

A used base 997 can cost as much as a mid level BMW and the appeal is still very strong on this P car.

If you decide to sell Larry, vice trading, be sure to post here or drop me a line...when my 987S sells I may be interested in discussing it.

Dead on with what I'm thinking. Unfortunately, such a logical choice of timming may back fire. Everyone thinking the same may temporarilly drive up demand/prices.

Here's what I'm looking for: I'd buy this car the moment it appears.
White or Black on black, 06S fully loaded (chrono, nav, full leather, adaptive sports seats, and hopefully a sports exhaust as a bonus), with CO and less than 25k miles for mid to high 50s. Right now they sell for high 60s, low to mid 70s.

I can wait till October.

Wishful thinking?

Joseph
PM me if you've got the above and want to sell it.
