Installing Dension or Mobridge in early 2005 997

I went to go see my custom audio installer about getting one of these in my car 2005 C2S today.

They told me that i could not install either in my car because it was built in 2004 (10/2004) to be exact and that the pre- January 2005 997'd did not have the correct software on the PCM's to install either to work properly.

This is a very high end top of the line installer in San Diego, that my family know personally, so i don't think he is trying to pull a fast one.

Has anyone else had a similar problem installing either of these systems in your 04 built 997?

and if so do you recommend on system over the other?

BTW I'm getting one of these because i want bluetooth and ipod adapter.

Oh yea and I have 3G Iphone, which i heard is a pain in the butt for any system integration!

997guardian is infamous around these parts
I have the Denison Gateway 500 installed on my 2005 997 (built 10/2004 as well i believe), so it can definitely be done. Denison functionality is absolutely flawless. I do not have a CD Changer or Navi set up with my PCM. I don't really use my gen one iPhone with the Denison, just a USB stick and probably a hard drive in the future. But when I have used the iPhone, it worked fine. The USB port, IMO, is invaluable. However, I have read other people reporting bugs with the Denison. My installer was Jamey Rawlings in LA. His team does good work and could talk you through potential problems and solutions.

My August 2004 (MY2005) build 997S accepted the Dension GW500 without a hitch. It has the early PCM (no phone or MP3 capabilities) which integrated smoothly w/ the Dension.

Make sure you have the 'SOS' button on your PCM; if you don't the Dension Bluetooth Adapter won't work.

You should not have any issue with the Dension. However, if your PCM does NOT have the telephone buttons, the Dension Bluetooth will not function (nor will the Tooki). Hit the order page of our site for the combo Dension buy for both units, anytime. Email me with questions: eric@bumperplugs.com
