Don't ruin that beautiful new white knight you just bought with a bicycle on top!

You might scratch your roof as I did on my 360 two weeks ago! Ugh. I need LMcarTouchup now.

Luis where are you?

Yes, I agree, the 911 has beautiful clean lines, adding anything to the the form will kill the visual impact of the car. Ride the bicycle and pull the car behind? Now that is exercise. I once saw a Rolls-Royce with 2 bikes at the back...

I am just busting Kdubb's chops.

Can't imagine seeing a bicycle on the roof of his new hot rod!

I'm sure it's outrageous. In fact, I would be so outraged at the price that I would sell that White 997 you have and I happen to be in the market for one...

I have this same ridiculous problem! I don't want to buy a new car just to haul around my bike and I am NOT getting rid of my Porsche!!! Unfortunately, I think the Porsche system is the way to go. The problem with the rear mount systems in the spoiler. If anyone has another solution, please post here. Don't want to get the Porsche rack -- it's more than a grand, I think.

I've had two clients use the Porsche Rack system. It actually doesn't look that bad. The best part is you can install it in about 15 minutes and remove it in about 10. So the days your not hauling your bike the car is clean and pure.

Retail cost is 512.43 for the Roof System and 141.10 for the mountain bike carrier. I'm sure the Road bike carrier is near the same. I'm also sure you can find these parts less expensive online somewhere.

Here is a pic of my C2S with BMX bike on the rack. I use it all the time even now on the turbo with no scratches..........

does the roof rack (when not hauling a bike) add much wind noise?

No, not a whole lot of wind noise, as long as you secure the straps that are part of the bike rack so they don't flap around. I bought a roof transport system for my 997, with two bike racks for $400 on ebay. Keep an eye out and you'll see the systems are available quite frequently.

There should not be any set-up. The rack just fits in the roof behind the four little doors that pop up. It is simple and quick to put it on and take it off. I have seen guys transport track wheels and tires on them, remove it for a track day and then put it back on for the ride home.
