To start, I only had about 1700 miles on the CS and recently detailed...guards red with red console and belts, black leather sport seats, sport exhaust, carrera sport wheels...the car was nice. They gave me near 60 for the CS and about 10% off the C4S...still I had to put some scratch down and my payment went up 61%

It is on their lot, actually one of the salespeople is driving it!!!
I brought the C4S in this morning. Broke down and they are installing the black GT3-RS wheels...they are also installing my valentine and fixing the clear-bra on the quarter panels and a good detail.

I have loved P-cars since childhood (mid 60s), but sadly, never owned one. I recently test drove a Cayman and Cayman S, and loved them both. Wanting to make sure, I also drove a 997 C2, and WOW, how different could 2 cars be? Within 20' of letting the clutch out, something I can't define had me thinking "What a solid, smooth, and wonderful car!" I changed my focus completely to "Gotta have a C2." Since then, I've read many posts on caymanclub.net site, and enthusiasm for the Cayman (obsession?) and general dismissal of all non-GT3 911s is working on my head.
What I don't want to do is buy a P-car and decide 2 months later that I got the wrong car. I would buy pre-owned either way. Please weigh in and give your opinion on 997 or Cayman S. I also feel the need to drive a 993 to give that car a shot.

I'm in the same boat as you. I started out test driving the Cayman S. The salesman was all over the cayman telling me it's more balanced due to the engine placement. And he felt was the better car. But after I drove the 911 C2S. Boy, there was no comparison. The 997 just has the better feel in every aspect of the handling...

Please post pics once you got the wheels installed. I can only imagine they'll look AWESOME!

Congrats Silentrun on a beautiful car! I'm taking delivery of my 05 911 (hopefully) Thursday . Picked it up from Texas and due to the hurricane shipment got delayed .
Do yourself a big favor and buy a radar detector!
