There's also the 'what do I get for the money...?' argument.
I've had Tubis on my car. They are one of the best sounding exhausts you can buy for a 997S. Period. But.... absolutely no noticeable additional power whatsoever. Tubi don't do cat sections for the 997S (free-flow cats give the meaningful power gains on these engines) and their mufflers are designed to sound terrific with the additional silencing offered by the standard Porsche cats. Added to the AWE headers and free-flow cats, they sound dreadful.
In the quest for more performance, I now have the full compliment of AWE product (Mufflers, cats, headers) and the car is significantly quicker through the top half of the rpm band in a way it never was with the Tubis. Unfortunately I have to say to Todd, Mike and everyone at AWE that the sound of your system isn't in the same league as the Tubis (or Cargraphic or TechArt)! Guys, it's far too low-pitched for a Porsche - you need a really fundamental rethink of your muffler design. Take out some of the rumble (these cars aren't yankee V8s) and let some of that authentic Porsche snarl come through - then your product would be near perfect. You've managed it so well with your GT3 system......!
Unfortunately I haven't used Fabspeed on my 997S but their mufflers sounded really good on my previous car, a 996

I agree with everything you have said.
Having tried several combination's -stock Muffler, Ebay Headers, Stock cats, complete AWE system, AWE HEADERS and Cats with Stock Mufflers, and Finally settling on AWE Headers and CATS with the a Remus Muffler I am very happy.
I am not sure what it sounds like out side the car LOL. But it is fairly quiet inside and the wife complains if I open it up in the neighborhood.
Sounds good going under a bridge though.
The AWE muffler was just too loud for my tastes. Admittedly I like things on the quiet side.
Anybody going down this path should really listen inside and outside the car to make sure they will be happy with the results.
Remember changing the cats is a game changer as far as power and noise.
Some mufflers are designed for the change in cats many aren't.
ie; My car with the AWE headers and cats with the Stock Muffler sounded like crap and didn't seem to run as well as with the AWE Muffler, but it was much quieter on thge inside. Changing to the Remus muffler seemed to solve both problems.
Was this simply my perception due to the change in noise - Possibly, but I do have a very sensitive butt dyno.

On one of the comments here, Durjay writes, he has Tubi exhaust with Rinspeed headers. Maybe he switched to bypass pipes on the later videos. Muffler bypass pipes don't sound that high pitched in person. Tubi's have more of a ferrari type sound. I wanted to get tubi's, because of the sound, but I've seen a lot of posts about tubi not providing any hp gains. Didn't want spend that much just to find out for myself. Also Tubi doesn't make cats. And I wasn't sure how they would sound with them. There's also been posts about how bad tubi's would sound with cats. It's crazy how these posts from 6speed can sway decisions like this. I hope there all correct. I ended up going with full cargraphic because when I heard them with the cats they sounded good. That's just my opinon.

I like the sound of the Fabspeed best, but I wonder how loud it would be inside the car. I ordered a Borla and, from my previous experience with Borla's, the sound is great AND you can carry on a conversation in the car or hear your music without turning the volume up to high.
