Tough to tell from the videos but from a pure sound perspective, I think the nod has to go to the Tubi.

How come not too many 997 guys use cargraphic? It seems only the Gt3 or turbo guys run them. Mine sound great. But I have to admit the Tubi's sound really good as well. They do sound different from the videos, you need to hear them in person.

Would say the Tubi but the hopped up vid kind of kills the effect of the sound as the cars moves away. Fabspeed much deeper to my ear and the drive away on the first car was very F1 sounding.

Big_O,

I would contact the folks at GMG. They have installed many of our 997 mufflers. I bet they could facilitate a listen of an A.W.E. system.

Here is GMG's web site. Please ask for Fabryce.

We have installed a few dozen of these systems and have been very happy with the results.

I would say AWE has one of the better quality systems on the market today.

Its not the loudest by any means and great for a street car.

I am not a fan or an advocate of any system that eliminates any catalyst or mufflers. These cars need to have a full system if they are to perform correctly and sound right.

The AWE complete system is great value for a complete system.

Feel free to give me a call or stop by we usually have a car here with a system on it.

I completely agree with Fabryce about not eliminating the cats.

I vote AfterHours all the way- Pretty tough to beat the sound, performance, quality and weight savings for the price.

I like all three choices, just personally like the AH better - sort of the "best of both worlds" blend of bypass pipes and regular mufflers

It is impossible to compare exhausts this way. Type of mike, placement etc bring too many variables. Gotta seek'em out in the flesh imo.

^ yep that is definitely true. Go to local pcar club meets if possible, meet some other owners and check out the exhausts.

There's also the 'what do I get for the money...?' argument.

I've had Tubis on my car. They are one of the best sounding exhausts you can buy for a 997S. Period. But.... absolutely no noticeable additional power whatsoever. Tubi don't do cat sections for the 997S (free-flow cats give the meaningful power gains on these engines) and their mufflers are designed to sound terrific with the additional silencing offered by the standard Porsche cats. Added to the AWE headers and free-flow cats, they sound dreadful.

In the quest for more performance, I now have the full compliment of AWE product (Mufflers, cats, headers) and the car is significantly quicker through the top half of the rpm band in a way it never was with the Tubis. Unfortunately I have to say to Todd, Mike and everyone at AWE that the sound of your system isn't in the same league as the Tubis (or Cargraphic or TechArt)! Guys, it's far too low-pitched for a Porsche - you need a really fundamental rethink of your muffler design. Take out some of the rumble (these cars aren't yankee V8s) and let some of that authentic Porsche snarl come through - then your product would be near perfect. You've managed it so well with your GT3 system......!

Unfortunately I haven't used Fabspeed on my 997S but their mufflers sounded really good on my previous car, a 996
