Will 996 Rims & tires fit on my 997 C4?

I Found a winter set of rims & tires but there from a 996 & the size a 18x8 & 18x10

sizes are

225/40R/18

265/35/18

i heard that they can fit, but im not sure if it will throw any codes or traction control problems?

i heard i need wheel spacers & longer lugs? with the spacers do i have to get the car re-alinged?
