Will 996 Rims & tires fit on my 997 C4?
I Found a winter set of rims & tires but there from a 996 & the size a 18x8 & 18x10
will this fit on my 997 C4?
sizes are
225/40R/18
265/35/18
i heard that they can fit, but im not sure if it will throw any codes or traction control problems?
i heard i need wheel spacers & longer lugs? with the spacers do i have to get the car re-alinged?

The longer lug bolts are usually part of the spacer kits, its my understanding. I'd rely on the information from your local dealer, who can utilize the official Porsche info on the issue.

Short answer is yes, the 18's in 8" and 10" will fit.
(same bolt pattern PCD and rolling diameter). So no code or TC problems. I would however fit 295/35/18 on the 10" rims instead of the 265/30/18 to come close to the width of tire you have now.
However the offsets may be different. This is when you need spacers. IMO if the wheels are an absolute bargain, get them and then figure out the offset and buy the right spacer later. You may find that you dont need them.
I run 18" rims from a 996 as track wheels/ tyres on my C2S without the need for spacers. Your C4 would only be slightly wider at the rear and should have no problem.

With a factory setup no. Besides there is very little you can do with factory lower control arms to control camber, You will need GT3 arms or aftermarket. Caster and tow angles wont be affected.
IN essence, where the tire sits within the wheel arch/housing is the same so alignment doesnt change. What changes on your new wheel is where the hub sits (+ve or -ve offset). This is important to see that the wheel/tire doesn't rub inside or out or that the spokes dont foul the calipers.
ON most 996/997 series cars, wheel designs have been flush with the body as opposed to deep dish so generally speaking you shouldn't have a problem with Porsche original wheels (with the right spacer).
