Front Number Plate

Front Number Plate
Firstly, i want to say that placing a number plate on the front of your 2008 911 C2S is just sacrilege a point not lost on Porsche i think. On that note has anyone noticed that Porsche have purposely designed the front wing to not allow a plate to fit. The bracket supplied by the porsche dealership doesn't fit (size) and even if it did it would need longer screws than provided for it to be fixed. I just got a ticket for not having a plate - $100 well spent if you ask me. Am i missing something when it comes to mounting the plate?

Thanks guys..... i went two years without a plate on my old BMW and nothing until two days before i was about to hand it back to the dealership..... as for the 911 i swear the traffic cops are just jealous as they have to drive around in those three wheeled contraptions..... They gave me a ticket at 2.30am on a wednesday 2.30am!!!!! my other thought was to use double sided tape and temporarily place it on the car, but something tells me i wouldn't get away with that one.

They are bad in Vancouver for this infraction.

I have three (3) 911 series fron plate holder assemblies I am closing out at $25.00 each.
They screw into the tow hook threads and hold the plate.
It's a complete kit that is a snap to use.
Grab them now and save yourself the ticket costs.
My market is primarily for Ferrari and I sell tons of those. Porsche is not a strong market for me so they go.
Individually packed and are about $5.00 for parcel post.
Let me know.

+1 for the tow hook adapter. I don't like getting pulled over for no reason, and it doesn't detract from MY enjoyment of the car in any way. Biggest negative is it is a pain to wash around it.

I bought mine from this person. Nice kit and $35 including shipping. Here is the e-mail address:

It threads into tow hook mount I just keep it in the car in case I get pulled over. I am not going to drill holes in my bumper!

They were ignorant/jealous. Told me I could 'dispute' it if i wanted to.
It seems like they must meet a monthly quota to hand out tickets here in Vancouver

So I'll be the contrarian here.. cause every good idea needs one, right? It is a great idea, this tow-hook location solution. However, its not for me. The off-center mounting of the front plates just looks very unattractive to me.
I'm also not sure why one assumes mounting a front plate to a 911 is sacrilege. Germany has always had front and rear plates. I would say, the north american style of rectangular plate, as opposed to the longer, narrower european plates, does make it harder to fit.
I have no problem with this look:
