My Casio G-Shock tells time and so does my Rolex, Breitling and Panerai watches.

Other than that the car you are comparing to a newer 911 are no wear in the same league in performance.

Compared to that , I have no trouble justifying ~ $95 k for my 911. Lol

Yup doodily. Unlike the west coast, the rest of the world still uses 'oriental'. For what its worth, come up with some sort of simple word that isn't as longwinded as south-east-asian, and I'll use that. Asia is just not the right term,no matter how much folks want it to be. That is the entire continent, and most of the continent isn't appropriate here. I'm not talking about Turkish, Iranian, Russian, Indian, Pakistani, etc.

In any case, vehicles put out by the markes: Honda, Toyota, Hundai, Suzuki et al .. all have a certain look and feel and design that is not appealing to me.

I used to have an S4 and it was a great sports sedan, but not a sports car like the 997. Ditto for an M3. An Infiniti is a p.o.s. (as is any Japanese car), and only for the type of person who asks exactly the question you did. Of course, drivers of such abominations are always good for a laugh as they never fail to try and show you how fast their car it.

Got to love a controversial topic, 20 responses in just over 2 1/2 hours. I thought this forum was slow today.

No preference on the makers as long as it is great design and good quality. But yes, cars from Japan, Europe, England, America all have their own look/feel. I am not offended by the word Oriental, but it did strike me funny. I just have not heard that term for a long time. It is free country.

The BMW 335i coupe I had in no way compares to the 997 4S I currently own. Heck, even a modded 335i wouldn't compare to the 997S. Just check out the vids on youtube comparing modded 335i's vs. the 997s.

Bottom line, you gotta drive a 911 on a track, and then maybe your tune will change. If it doesn't, then well, there's no need to waste any time explaining anything to the OP.

I drive a 997 C4S (and a Cayenne) and my wife drives an 08 G35. When we are out together it is all 997. I don't think the G35 is a POS, but it definitely lacks that Porsche sports car edge. It is a comfortable sedan with good power, but isn't that much fun to drive. Couldn't imagine tracking it without serious mods. I have also owned an S4 and an M3 and they are great cars, but don't compare IMHO. Transportation vs. Driving Experience .

To be honest, I am shocked anyone replied. It borders on trolling if not crossing the line. The fact the OP thought the G37 is a midengine car made the post laughable. I am only responding because you guys did...I say let the thread die. If you have to explain it...as the real Joey Gambino would say...Fogetaboutit...

Why so cheap?

The 911 is an amazing car that can be driven everyday and on the track. It's an iconic sports car with some unique characteristics. I can't think of anything for the money that comes close.

What do you currently drive Joey? What's your point of reference?

Technically the G37 is a FM (front-mid) car.

The S2000 is similar - front engined but 50/50 weight distribution (not sure of the G37) but to compare a G37 to a 997? Getthfockouttahere!

This post must be a troll.

In any case, if it is serious, in my experience the people who ask questions like this already know the answer. We're not coming onto the BMW or Infiniti forums to tell people how crap their cars are compared to the 997. That tells you all you need to know right there. We don't have to, because we don't even care about those cars. They don't even register.

Sure the 335 is a decent car. But it's completely different than a 911, not even in the same league and it's made for completely different needs.

if you think the price of the car is expensive, wait until the bill for your first oil change
