Denison iPod not working right

I recently had the Denison Gateway 5000 installed. PCM recognizes that their is an iPod hooked up, but there is no text on the PCM like name of the song, artists, etc. so I can only change the music using the iPod. I didn't have a CD changer before and went to two different Porsche dealerships and both said PCM is programmed correctly to recognize the Gateway 5000.

The installede put the Gateway 5000 behind the radio so I can't access without taking the radio out. The devices worked right away even though Eric at Bumperplug said I need to get my PCM reprogrammed before it worked. Any help would be appreciated it.

I think you need to hold the FWD botton (bottom right, under #9) for few second, then select iPod GW, instead of iPod GUỊ

before you do that step. you need to seleclec CD List from Audio function, then scroll down to select Menu from the list. From the Audio screen, use the Fwd botton, scroll to select >source then do the step below. Good luck.

The translation in the manual is a bit rough, but you must also switch the mode selector back and forth 3 times when a song is playing to get into set-up mode:

(below is cut & paste from the Porsche-Dension pdf manual)
Step 5: In order to access the configuration menu it is necessary, while the music is playing from the iPod, to switch the mode selector 3 times back and forth (6 switching) between the CD changer mode and the GATEWAY 500 mode.
Step 6:
By that, the following configuration menu must appear on the
display of the navigation system: “Cfgdev”
Step 7:
In the configuration menu you are able to select from five (6) different configuration settings. shows the first out of six possible steps, NO TEXT (1/6). This first step is displayed, but not needed with
any Porsche models.
Step 8:
Changing the configuration option (+PAGING) 5/6 or (+SELECT) 6/6 is done by pressing the arrow
button: #> (pic.6) located on the left side next to the display, until you reach the desired option.

The Gateway 500 unit is now optimized and ready to use.
To confirm the chosen option, press and hold that same button for more than 3 seconds. This will confirm the text display option (+PAGING) or (+SELECT). When the button is held for more than 3 seconds the track time displayed on the head unit will
advance just like a fast forward action. After selecting the option it is possible, that the
System switches to the FM mode. In that case, please press on the CD button in order to get back to the Dension application.

It is easier to follow with the pictures. You can download the PDF from Dension if you don't have it or if Eric didn't send it to you.
Also make sure you have updated the firmware so it will show artist names when playing (that update just came out last week)

Hope it works.
Note: in step 8 where it says to choose 5 or 6 (+Paging or +Select) (whatever those really mean) for our Porsche PCM the "recommended" selection is 6 (+ Select). 5 is for other makes (Merc + Saab are listed).

Thanks for your help. I found followed the directions above and used the manual from Eric and was able to get the PCM text working. Now just need to figure out how to navigate through the system.
