2010 997 Speedster ...Pics Testing

I just can't get past a coupe . Neurotic , that's me --I don't even like to open a window . The idea of road filth blowing into the cabin of my car or all over me just never was my thing .
The speedster photo looks like it reduces drag but when I look at it the car somewhat looks like a bathtub .
I do have a concern about a car company releasing new models into a struggling economy though . It flags ideas of restructuring and the lessons learned from the American manufactuer problems of today .

Hysterical. Though I'm quite sure I'm quite competitive on the neurosis front, the value of a Cab is a function of where you live. I live in the Bay Area, CA (the convertible capitol of the world) and have a standing rule:
If temp > 32 and < 100 and it's not raining, then the top is down.
I've only violated the rule 3 (ok, maybe 4) times in 2+ years.
Love the speedster. It surely does look like a bathtub. That's half the charm.
If they'd only make a 2wd turbo version, I'd sell my 05 S Cab.

I don't know if there's a formal definition but in the past Speedsters:
Are stripped down cars - with fewer options and lower weight;
Are really designed as a roof-less car. Modern era cars modify that by including a retractable soft top;
A lower and more trim windshield - more wind-in-hair and (theoretically) higher speeds (though it's not clear from these pictures that they've altered the windscreen);
No back seat, etc.
So, theoretically a single purpose racing/sporting car. Not sure that the 997-based version thoroughly captures all of the essence of a true Speedster, but it's a bit unique.

Had it out in 28 degrees, bright and sunny, top down, heated seats and heat blowing full. Put away the next day 4 damn snow
