Limited slip diff

Just wanted to know if a limited slip diff (Porsche original or aftermarket) can be post- fitted to a 2007 997 C2

I had a limited slip diff in my Lotus Elise and really loved the feel of it during cornering when roads were greasy/slipery

Thnaks,

Vince

Thnaks,

Vince you can go OEM (real expensive) or go with Quaife. You can get the Quaife LSD for around $1700 I think plus install.

Here it is on Vividracing's website..

What would this product do for the AWD C4S, I noticed they sell it for this vehicle.

I bought a Quaife, and it will be installed tomorrow. It will definitly help on the exit speed of corners.

How many hours are you being quoted for the install, may I ask??

I think it could be one of the best mods to this car. I just wish we could change final drive ratio as well.

I know that both transaxles on the C42 are open diffy's and wheelspin is controlled by the ABS or what ever they call their system. I don't really know what would happen with the C4(S), I think the rear axle will now have a mechanical locker giving it an LSD making corner exit that much better if setup properly.

Theres quaife , oem and I believe guards . On the AWD car it's somewhat over done . For instance all Tiptronic 997tt cars do NOT have it and aboit half the manual 997tt don't as well .

I know it's standard on the new C4S but as i have stated in other threads I believe the C4S development might be linked with the winter driving program so every little bit helps .

Here's my opinion -if the car doesn't have it .. don't cry . You still have a great car .If you fall in love with a car and it doesn't have it ... buy the car . Don't let this be a dealbreaker on a great car. If you order a car .. get the option .. it can't hurt anything and it well help resale .

I also have a LWFW going into my car at the same time. The estimated number of hours is about 12 in total. The Transmission needs to be dropped, then installed and set up properly.

I agree, for the track this is one of the best mods that I could do, on the street, I am not so sure. I should have the car back by Wednesday or Thursday (I will allow the shop to take there time, and do it right), It could snow by the end of the week, so driving it is not a huge concern right now.

How about a short shifter as well?

Yep. Do the LWFW and Quaife at the same time. Also consider a clutch while you're in there. You want to get the most out of your labor hours that you can. The LSD and LWFW are two of the best mods I've done.
