discount on 2009 911s

I am planning on ordering a Carrera within the next few weeks and want to see what kind of discount people are getting on 2009 cars. I have heard rumors that people are getting anywhere between 6%-13% off MSRP on 2009 cars. Not sure how accurate those numbers are. From the little negotiating I have done with my local dealers I can get 8% off a ordered car. I believe I can do a little better and hope to get 10% off MSRP when I am ready to give them the deposit... Just wanted to get peoples opinions.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

they have to make something to stay in business-i would look up what they are paying for the car (edmonds, kbb, etc), add $1000 to that number for profit, and offer that amount to them.

500-anytime i have been in fla., it seems like that is a bit of a different market than the rest of the country, with the exception of socal-have you had similar experience, or can you get a market appropriate discount down there right now?

Do you really think a dealer will give me $1,000 over invoice if I ordered a car today?!

The market climate changes with circumstances . Ordering a car is a bit different than walking onto a lot and making an offer with a check in your hand on a car in stock .
On a week that the stock market drops 1000 points your chances are better anywhere to negotiate . Yoir figures are accurate but if you really want a deal this is the time to buy because it's December and with the years end coming annual unit sales make or break a business .

Not in South Florida . But you can get a discount and by the time you factor in freight , travel, and time the extra expense breaks even .

Does that apply to ordering a new car, or just cars off the lot?

Thanks for everyone replies!

A car is not sold until it drives off the lot.

I'm pretty confident that if I can get a dealer up north to agree to sell me a car for $1,000 over invoice a dealer in florida will match it.

i agree with the previous comments-if you buy a car off the lot, your chance of a bigger discount increases. if it was me, i would search the dealers in your surrounding area and look at their inventory by using porsche.com-then find a car that you would like, call the dealer or go there if you are close enough and make an offer-i would be willing to bet that in today's economic climate, someone would be willing to take cost plus a thousand for existing inventory, especially if you do it after xmas and before new years. try it and pm me after-i bet it works.

I have heard this is possible but not here . I do suggest that you read this thread starting on page 2 post 18 forward . It sheds some light on the subject. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...od-deal-2.html

I just went on porsche.com to searched all the dealerships inventory in florida and there is one car that interested me, but was PDK(I want stick). Also, every car I looked at not one of them has the sports seats which is something I would like to have.

Do I have a chance of getting a 11 or 12% discount on a ordered car?

I will read that forum suggested above see what it has to say. Thanks everyone for the replies.

1) The inventory lists may not be updated . Call them to be sure .

2) I don't think you will get 12 percent in this entire region .

If you do --let us know . I will have a lot of questions though

DocJackson,

Try the dealers on the west coast of Florida...as I mentioned above I am on both coasts and there is quite a bit of inventory on the ground that's just been sitting there...
