Paint advice please

It was just a matter of time before the guys in my garage became careless regardless of how much I tip them. It seems they've opened my door against a cement wall and scratched the door edge. How should I have it fixed? I don't want to shoot the entire door. The car is silver and never matches. Can anyone recomend someone in the NYC area? Thanks!

I agree with you about NOT painting the door . I would get a little touch up paint and fill that edge .

Let the next buyer notice it and paint the door if he wishes but at least he will see that yoir car was not in an accident .

to fix it the right way you have to shoot the entire panel and depending how far away it is from the the next panel you might have to shoot that one (not paint just clear)to blend.you send me a picture and i will let you know.

I agree with touch up, or/ and install a strip of door edge guard to cover up and prevent further damage.

A good body shop should be able to mask that, spot and, sand and polish and it will look perfect.

My dealer knicked the crap out of my rear panel (just after the door). The body shop touched it up with an air brush technique and its gone 100%, no sign of chip, paint blended in perfect. I was amazed to say the least what they did without repainting the entire piece.

My car is GT silver FWIW.

Yeah dont paint the whole door. I have panels re-sprayed on my silver M3 and in certain light its easy to tell that the paint doesnt match perfectly...
