Question 997.2 Adaptive Headlights

Overall...

Are they any brighter [going straight] than the regular Bi-Xenon setup?

Four lights versus two, I would think so.

Huh? Why would they be brighter? The adaptive lights only adjust around bends, they have separate high and low beam projectors as a result but would not expect the light patterns to be different other than the pivoting of the low beams.

There are TWO bi-xenon headlights on at the low setting on my '08 911.

I saw a video that showed the Ad. headlights in action and there were FOUR headlights turned on [All were xenon].

THAT is why I asked the question.

The top projector is the low beams that adjust around corners with the steering.
When the headlights are in low beam mode, those are the only lights on (2 HID projectors on) in the front lamp.

The lower projection lamp is the high beams. When I switch the high beams (aka distance lights) on, they come on in addition to the low beams, so all 4 projectors are going then.

I don't have a non-adjustable lamp system to compare it to., but I would think for high beams on the previous years, both low and high may come on together as well, though the high beams may not be projectors?

In any case, for low beams, its only 2 of the HID projectors.

So I'm thinking, for low beam, normal headlight usage, there is no difference.

For high beam /distance lights, there may be a difference in the type of high beam used (projector in the 997.2 adaptive lights vs a basic reflector solution? ). Can someone post a picture of the lamp assembly from a non-adapative headlight 997.2?

Below is my 997.2 adaptive headlight.

In addition to the above, at high way speeds the low beam extends it's projection limit so you can see further down the road, and when going uphill or downhill the beam adjusts accordingly, as well as while accelerating and decelerating it stays at one level, thus the name "adaptive" headlights.
