1/4 mile times ?

I DON'T get why anyone would do it. It's simply too expensive - it wears out every part of the car way more than the entertainment provided. The stress on the engine, transmission, all driveline components and the tires - ouch!
Does anyone here REALLY care if a 997.2S can do 12.7 or 13.1 enough to beat on it like that?
It's the combination of fantastic engineering and outstanding performance value that makes Porsches great. They're NOT the cheapest go-fast (Z06/ZR1? GT-R?). They're a great combo of attention to detail - built to exacting specs - and great performance.

who cares?
the cars are fun to abuse
i already replaced the clutch on my car
i went through 2 sets of tires like they grow out of tree's
my car see's redline every single day its turned on
and guess what......... its all totally fine
tranny is fine, gears are fine, engine, diff, all that stuff is fine
the only thing not fine is the tires
i bought my car to enjoy it
i powerslide it , probably 20-30 times a day , and trust me, im not exagerating
i plan on getting a carrera GT within a few years, and wait till u see how im gonna treat that thing... like a true red headed stepchild
these cars are made to enjoy , and give you a rush
theyre not gonna be on earth forever, and neither will we

I can't really say yet, the ACR only has 200 miles on it and winter is here, so its hard to say but so far so good. I am waiting for the spring to get it on a road course and then I will be able to tell you more. I will say its not really a very good street car though as its loud and rough riding because of the race suspension but it has a nice tight feel like a race car should have so I have high hopes for the track.

Steve I did the headers along with the 200cpi AWE cats. I did feel a difference once I installed them. The car revved more freely and the midrange tq. along with the sound was definitely obvious.

I average 12.6-12.7 @ 112 or so with a great launch, my fastest was 12.4 at 115 with perfect launch on a cold night.
I also average 0-60 at 4.1-4.2 seconds with my record being 3.9 (on a g-timer)
btw, since i stopped babying my car and started "driving it like i stole it", the car has gottn a lot faster and no problems so far.
