My 09 carrera 997.2 has less than 10k miles, but while its having an oil change this weekend, i'd like any recalls done at the same time too....

Gary Marshall is infamous around these parts
Odors from AC system

Based on what you described, it sounds like something has gotten into the system and is decomposing. Sprays and air treatments won't resolve something that is decomposing. If products like Force Out or BioDrive don't work, then you will need to clean the ducts and condenser retention elements.

check the side radiators behind the front bumper. they may be trapped with leaves. you may need to remove the bumper to get all leaves out. some may be sandwiched between the radiators.

also, do you have any pest control issues? do you park the car outside by trees?

Jeeze, I hope that he's still not living with this since September.

When I have noticed this (happened in all my BMWs too), I turn the heat up full blast and drive for 15 minutes or so. It can be brutal in the summer - windows down, you'll live. But now's a great time to burn it off. Evey time I have done this with this 911, it has worked - no smell...until maybe next time after I wash it.

I'd second the previous quote about vermin getting into the car. I've regularly seen evidence of mice in my 911 air filter (sun flower seeds especially), so I would wonder if something crawled into the car and died. Good luck.

I come from a family of firefighters, and they deal with nasty smells more than anybody. One and all, they all swear by Febreeze in its various forms (spray, laundry, etc).

No vermin and she stays inside. Running the heater full blast gets rid of it but it will come back. After reading a variety of posts with similar situations, I believe water (condensation) in the heating/ac ducts accumulates in some low spot and develops mold. That is the smell. 2 dealers have been all over this car and have sprayed disinfectant and took the entire heater box/core out and replaced it. There is a kit that is available to disinfect the system, I might go that route but first back to the dealer who said they fixed it by replacing the heater/core box. We will see.
