PSM-Does It stay on always

Yesterday I found an empty parking lot here which was slippery and I went in with a dude who has an e46 m3 for some sideways action. But I was dissapointed when I saw the psm stopping my drift despite being deactivated. So the question is does anybody know a way to turn the psm completely off? The bad thing was that the car felt so easy to control and extreme fun but at some point of the drift the psm cutted the power and stopped the car. Yesterday I found another good reason to move up for a gt3

Read the brochure or manual for the exact specifications. But as I remember them, PSM turns off with the button and will only turn itself back on if either front wheel goes into ABS. If you didn't touch ABS and had PSM off, it shouldn't have come back on.

Well it never can be fully deactivated. As Ron stated if the front wheels kick off the ABS it comes back on. Also the fact that you don't have a LSD could also inhibit some nice drifting. The E46 M3 on the other hand loves to drift.

Although with the open diff, and PSM off, it is very easy to through the 997 into a 360. We did a skid pad test at a track day last fall. Rain, speed, and no nannies, means lots of fun...in a controlled environment.
