what were the miles on it? if under 10k, i'd love me a deal like that. best i found is 06 S with 2300 miles for 60k

i agree. the selling price will have a 4 in front of it. there are so many 997 on the market. 997 market is following the 996 down the gutter.
  • 997c2 is a high 30's -> low 40's
  • 997c2s is a mid 40's -> high 40's

This market has completely tanked. I took my car in today for service and had them work up the number to see about a trade for a used 07 turbo they had only the floor. They came back with a trade in value of 54. And mine is an 07S with full leather and 10k miles. So given that I'm guessing you'd be really lucky to realistically get 50, more likely high 40's.

From what I'm hearing it may be better to wait if you can. The dealer told me that the factories are going to close for 2 months this year as opposed to 1 so maybe with the decreased supply of 09's our cars could get a slight bump in value.

OP inquired about what it would take to sell in this market. thats the pricing that will sell in this market. its invoice pricing, and that's the only number anybody is willing to pay at this moment. especially considering mileage upwards of 20k.

you may see higher prices out there, but those cars with higher prices just aren't moving.

There's a difference . He's the seller and his car has options . Nice options too. Full leather and aerokit are not cheap stuff . You guys pin him at 48 or 50 and those are great buyer quotes to strive for . Regions like the midwest and Alabama would be breat buying spots since it winter and slow economy.

What i suggest to a seller is different than a buyer . The CPO cars with less miles might pose an advatage BUT taking this guy at face value that his car is "flawless" (no paint /non smoker/ garage kept / clean DME/full records) and nicely equipped --tell him to aim for that extra 5K .

That means they will aim for 62 in selling your car and ask in the high 60's.
There's money in these cars for dealerships . Their rent is high too in So Cal and buy a car off their lot and you are paying it .

I'll give you the price right here for an 07S into an 07 Turbo . I did this myself IN 07 . It cost 50K plus my car out the door (tax /tag/ dealer fee--included) . That's what it will cost you depending on what options are on that turbo, how many miles as well as that car's history.

yrallis:
the OP car i'm sure is a prime example with all the right options. but in this market, he will get much interest and absolutely not find a buyer with money. just not gonna happen for anywhere near your estimate. valuable options don't factor into the current bottom-dollar economy. they will get you a buyer, but won't fetch the money like they used to.

your estimate in 07 is also very very and i repeat very outdated. it hurts to see the market like this but its the truth.

dealer will give you premium money in order to move a new car. the new cars have plenty of profit to play with. remember the new cars are selling at discounts - unheard of in the 911 world.

An 07 997S to an 07 997tt will cost the same in 07 as it will in 09 or any other year unless retail Turbo price depreciates faster than wholesale 997S price (if he trades in) . A new Turbo MSRP with some options is 140K easily and can even go as high as 160 .

If his trade in is 54 and the dealership sells the Turbo for 100 that's 46K plus tax = 50.

Of course he can private sell and go to auction hunting for a 75K turbo . good luck to him or anyone else ready to take that risk . I am only referring to trading in a clean car to another clean car from an authorized Porsche dealership .

There are dealerships reading this thread .. if they can beat Phils deal lets see them sell him a car at your prices. Watch .. the thread will fall to silence.

i see your point as to the relative comparable values.
i would just adjust the points of entry much lower than you.

When I was shopping for a C2S I saw an 07 for $50K. It did not have a clean title. Beware of these unbelievable deals!

Agreed and confirmed last week in Denver. The price differential between the cost of my '07 C2S cab and the '07tt is same now as it was when I bought new.
