C2s on the open market

Hello.

Im contemplating selling my 2006 c2s with 32k miles.
Midnight blue with Full leather black interior 6 speed.

The car has bose, aerokit, carbon package, heated seats, crest in headrest.

How much do you guys think this car is worth?

What im more interested in is your guys take on how hard it will be to have it sold within a couple of months with this economy.

Im asking because I want to buy a particular gt3 but do not want to be stuck with 2 porsches for too long.

The miles are a bit high but if the car is clean and without a CPO mid 50's . Ask 62 and close at 56.5 (lol) .

Sounds like a stunning car you have there. Please...post some pics. Would love to see the midnight blue over aerokit.

Priced to sell in 2 months ? Might not want to hear the opinions but you asked...$55-58k max, no hassles out the door.

If the car is clean (no paint/ damage/all records/garage kept/non smoker) mid 50's will close it. Even though your car has miles it also has nice options too. Full leather /aerokit --these are worth something too . If you are planning on selling I would refrain from piling on the miles though . At 32K park it .

Condition is pretty much flawless. Thanks for your opinions and I will heed the advise and park it.

I think that car would not bring $50K in this economy, I can point to a CPO 06 C2s with all those options except the aerokit with 5000 miles at my dealer that they'll sell to you in the high 50's. Your car is $48K max with all those miles.

In my area of the country I am seeing 06 997 S selling for around mid to high 50s however they are CPO cars at the dealer and have less miles on them.

I'm in the middle of moving from NYC to SF, and intend to buy a 2006 C2S Coupe when I get out there. My sense as a buyer is that low $50s will buy a nice CPO'd car today. I also think the economy is going to continue to suck wind and won't be surprised if I end up getting one for $45k in two months. It is a disastrous market for assets of any kind.

If I were you, I would knock the car out now. The market for used vehicles is going only one way from here for the next while.

akshon,
Where are you located? Some markets may be doing better than others.

Quick and easy way to find the value is go to Autotrader.com and see what others are asking for a similar car.

autotrader.com or cars.com gives an idea of the 'asking price', not the 'value'. Many of those prices are just way above the local market and the cars sit unsold for months, just as the ebay's 'highest bids' for the same cars tend to be lower than the actual value. Perhaps the real value is somewhere between those asking prices and the highest bid from buyers on ebay for comparable cars.

There is a 2006 C2S (23k miles) on eBay[1] with a buy-it-now of $55k. These are coming down fast. Caymans are falling like hot rocks. Yikes.

[1] - I know there are many caveats surrounding eBay cars. But the bottom line is, there's a car out there offered at $55k. This can't help the legion of folks who are still trying to sell similar cars on CL, etc for >$65k.

The average ASKING price of a 2006 C2S is ~$62k. Some are certified, and options vary.

It's a virtual certainty that you could get a significant discount off that price if you're ready to buy and you convince the seller that you're ready.

A guy I know just bought from a dealer a 2007 C2S with low miles, nice options and CPO for $55k. Dealer was happy to get that as there are very few actual buyers out there. One way to find out - search eBay and look at completed auctions for 2006 S with high miles and see what people were willing to bid to and if any cars actually sold.
