'09 PCM Question
On the touchscreen readout in the lower right hand corner there's a number for the temperature, next to the temp # is F (obviously for Fahrenheit) and next to the the F are the two letters TP with a grey check mark next to TP. I've scoured the manual looking for an explanation for TP and the check and have come up empty. It's probably something so obvious I'll feel like a dope when I find out but does anyone know what it means?

My guess is that it is an indication that the "Traffic Program" is set to "on" in the radio options, as mentioned above. It is a feature that interrups normal radio transmission to give you traffic conditions updates IF the redio station tags them as "TP" bulletins. The 997.1's have that indication as well in the lower right hand corner of the audio screen. Check your settings for the radio to see if it is that option.

I have a Tooki and the signal strength bars for the phone are right next to TP. It also appears on the main screen next to the bars. Therefore I always assumed it was Telephone Power or something poorly translated like that. You can turn off the traffic in the menu, so I guess that is one way to test it.

BTW. having the live traffic conditions on the display is very cool and helpful. If only surface streets could be monitored the same way.

Yes, it is for 'Traffic Program'. However, note that the 'traffic program' feature is DIFFERENT than, say, the NavTraffic data that gets overlayed on the map. TP is the service that relies on a signal in a sideband of the radio broadcast that is using the RDS type service.. which switches your system to whatever station is announcing the traffic info, and then switches your system back to whatever audio source you were listening to before.
The RDS system is only thinly supported in the US by a few metro areas I think. I don't get any RDS type announcements in the Seattle area.. probably because most of the traffic announcements are on AM radio stations here.
Anyone in Seattle get TP interruptions at some point?
