window tint AGAIN
So for the 3rd time in less than a year Im back to get my windows re-tinted. The first few times i went to the same guy as it was a free redo. However, I am sick of them peeling (door windows). SO ANNOYING the noise of the tint peeling. Anyways, just wanted to vent, feel free to share your venting here, LOL

On the sides best to pull the door cover and tint the entire glass so the corner piece does not come off with the down / up seal feature on the 997.
Your dealer will have a good referral or just find a Porsche specialist, its a common problem with windows of this type.

I just had to go get my side windows retinted a 2nd time. They keep putting it ABOVE the 2nd set of window sills.
Keep your windows shut for over a week with this weather and keep the car in hte sun to heat it up.

You don't have to do that. You get the tint far down by going past the seal.

Local law enforcement knows me. In MI an endorsement can be added to your DL from the DMV. Most of the time a note will do.. depends on the department.

Even with the car in the SoCal sun for two days did not cure it fast enough.

I go for very light tints primarily to cut down on UV rays and heat buildup in the cabin. You can barely tell its tinted from some angles unless you compared side by side. Plus I think it just makes the car look 'finished' to boot.

Will take some this weekend, The guy at McKenna Porsche in SoCal fixed the window problem, sees it all the time as vast majority of his business is Porsche and he works from inside the dealership service area.

I usually agree with most things you post, I'd say great minds think alike, however on the tint thing, I love the way the car looks when its all blacked especially with mine being white
