Porsche prototype crashed

I think the guardrail you see lying on the car has been tipped over from the impact. The right edge of that is probably the TOP of the guard rail. Notice the green paddles further up the road that normally project UP form the guard rail to block oncoming traffic headlights from blinding drivers in the opposite direction. The fact that the car is still on it's side of the autobahn indicates its a GREAT guardrail design. Here in the US, more times than naught, that car would have crossed over into the oncoming traffic and killed many more beyond the driver.

take a look
the guardrail is still firmly connected to the ground
at least that`s what I would tell from looking at this picture.
I hate the fact, that all the ignorant people come up with "uuh..again a crash of one of these reckless test drivers"
"those test drivers are really dangerous and don`t care for other traffic,as they are always speeding like crazy with their fast cars"

Friends in Europe in another forum agree the rail probably caused the drivers' death. Here is an excerpt:
"...and if you think that is bad for low cars which go under the impact absorving guardrail, you should see what that does to motorbike riders.
The riders travel over the gorund under the guardrail like this car and the posts that hold the guardrail up act as blades and if you hit them over 50km/h they will amputate whatever part of the rider's body hits it. You can see the effect of the post on the car and how it "cut into" the car's chassis, imagine human tissue, its awful even at low speeds, doesn't take much. Its incredible how many damages are caused by these assassin guardrails every year here as opposed to falling were there is no guardrail. Now finally they are slowly changing them with guardrail with rounder shaped post and some with a protection below it (like a lower guardrail below the top one) that absorbs the impact and offers no cutting surface..."
