Porsche prototype crashed

A 998 convertible crashed this morning in slight rain on the german Autobahn.
The reasons for the accident are still unknown,as the driver was one of the most experienced test drivers of the company and did not do high speed tests, since he was going to do a long distance testing that night.
The driver,a 51 year old test driver with 25 years of experience with P-Cars,was killed in the accident.

I wonder if the car would have crashed different if it would have been a coupe with a stiffer roof and a overall stiffer chassis

That's very sad. It shows there's a price to be paid for developing an improved version of the car we drive.

Show us that driving is dangerous, even a spirited drive on the freeway and none of us are half the driver he was.

Like I tell people, I think driving on the road is more dangerous than driving on a track .

That's probably what killed him. Unless the guard rail collapsed. In any case it does not look good, as the car was squeezed by that structure.

Guys,

I don't think that's how the guard rail was designed. It looked as though it had fallen after the impact. If you look further down the road, there's another guard rail standing up, I believe. Regardless, RIP.
