Will GT3 front bumper and H&R springs sit too low?
I ordered a factory GT3 front bumper conversion kit for my 2005 C2. The kit includes the lower lip, and I am wondering if I will have clearance to install H&R sport springs. I believe these springs will lower the car 1.2". Will there still be enough front ground clearance on a daily driver?
Thanks,
Nick

Is techart springs far superior than h&r springs? If not why is techart 2x more expensive than HR? Once you lower your car with these springs, will your car start rolling to the side? Do you absolutely need an aligment after lowering? thanks

H and R springs are LOW . Very low . I chose Techart and now moved on to damptronics but would not have chosen Hand R --especially with the Gt3 conversion. You'll constantly worry about scraping the lip in the simplest daily situations .

Yes, alignment on these cars is a must and can make a world of difference in the handling department if you get it performed by someone who knows what they are doing.

I believe Techart springs are made by Eibach. You can get a comparable Eibach set for less, but I believe the Eibach may be a bit lower than the Techarts.

I actually have the same question in my mind about gt3 front with cargraphic springs. I have the CG spring setup which I believe H&R carry the same setting. More feedbacks on this post would be helpful.

I had H&R's on my car for a very short time and I have the full aerokit on my car. Thy were on for a short time because It was almost impossible not to destroy the lip. The H&R's are very low and you have to take great caution in not folding the lip underneath the car. IMO it took away some enjoyment of driving the car. That is why I too went with Damptronics (like yrralis1 and others) which I have set to GT3 spec height.

I've lowered my 997S about 1.25" with Damptronics and have added the GT3 snoot. It IS low, and despite care, it occasionally takes a small hit on driveways and dips. That said, the splitter is a replaceable part and reasonably priced (odd given that it's a Porsche part!). BTW the combination of lowering and the new front end completely changes the look of the car. Beautiful before, far better now. I'm not quite sure why, but a number of people have mentioned it. Unprovoked.
Go for it, you'll enjoy the look and ride. OTOH, unless you're doing the work yourself, I'd suggest you consider the Damptronics rather than the springs. On a percentage basis, factoring in labor costs as well, the incremental cost of going with fresh coilovers during the conversion is reasonable, and most feel that the Bilstein's are da' bomb. Perhaps not the best, but excellent price/performance and PASM compatible.
