No Luck Jump Starting Dead Battery

I'm not sure why we would expect that we get any better towing service response than any other car broken down. Personally, I'm not willing to pay for 'priority standby towing' service. If I'm broken down, I'm missing whatever appointment I had anyway. For the rarity of the event, I'm not willing to pay the added cost it would take to subsidize that service or have dealers have their own fleet of trucks.
On a drive from Louisiana to Washington, my other car broke down as we drove through New Mexico heading up to Colorado. It took about 90 minutes for the tow to arrive. Nothing to do but wait. It would have been nice if the tow would have brought some coolant.. thats all I needed, but thats another story.

In this case a good set of jumper cables and the proper attachment technique would have avoided 'Curb Side Service' or flatbed completely. A simple 5 minute job turned into a 'mini marathon'.
