OK guys, y'all inspired me. I just got me clear side lights for the front and I put them on. The car looks 100% better but then I noticed how dirty my wheels were, so I got down there scrubbed them. Here are a few pics.

It's worth the elbow grease. You can make the wheels really pop by adding a good tire dressing- not to make then shiney, but to make them deep black. I like Zaino Tire Dressing.

As for wheel cleaner, I use a separate wash bucket with Zaino shampoo and water, kitchen gloves, and a microfiber towel.

I've used P21S when I drove BMW's, which have the worst brake dust, just to loosen it a little, but even still they needed good old fashioned elbow grease.

My tip: clean the wheels first. By the time you're done with the whole car, and all you have left are the wheels, they seem like a real hassle. Do them first, and then the rest is pleasant.

i have a guy who comes out to the house to do detail jobs and he always starts with the wheels as well. he does it first so the car doesnt get wet or dirty at the end if you had to wash and hose off the wheels

Hahaha! Yep, it's a pro-detailer tip. The good ones all do it. In the DFW area you have one of the best, Scottwax. Let me know if you need a referral.

I'll tell you the way I clean my wheels... yes all of them. I use a good spray cleaner, mothers, Eagle or any descent cleaner spray on, let soak for a few minutes then spray them off with a good solid stream of water, then I take my first brush and clean inside of the wheel, then I clean the entire outside wheel with a nice soft sponge getting every nook and cranny including the caliper. Wax and polish.... done. It is a lot of work, but I think i take as long with the wheels as I do with the rest o the car.

Honestely soap and water is the best route to go in the long room.
Using wheel cleaners frequently risk taking the Clear Coat off your wheels.
A friend of mine who details and always has perfect wheels taught me this trick a
few years back ,sponge with soap and water to get in the tights spots and afterwards light Wax on the wheels it really helps the dirt and brake dust come off easier the next time.
GL
+1 on the wax on the rims suggestion.
If you keep your rims well waxed, cleaning them is a whole lot easier.

Works like a charm. Also got the boars hair brush and swiisvax brush for the tight areas.
I got a black and decker "scum buster" for 10 bucks on ebay. It has a rechargeable battery and a brush like the one above. Plus it is water-resistant!

The point of the powerstick is that it cleans the deep inside surface of the rim. I havent found any other way to clean that surface so quickly and easily.

It was never an issue with my older cars with smaller/narrower wheels, and these wide carrera 19's have huge openings that really makes the inside of the wheel visible.

yeah, you're right, there is no way my scum buster is going to get in there! It can only go about 4 inches into the rim. I have a little brush from walmart that I use for that, but my dog ate it!
