Installed Borlas on my 997S w/X51 headers
and AWE 200cpi cats. All I have to say is this is the sound I have been waiting for. Before I get started I just want to say I will have some videos done of this setup but it may not be for a week or so as I am swamped at work. I installed these mufflers last night in my condos garage without even a lift. I just drove the rear tires onto 2 large phone books. Total install time: Just over 1Hr. 20min..could have been less but in shipping one of the mounts was tweaked a bit and had to be straightened.
Let me just start by saying this setup is not for the faint hearted. My previous setup was with AWE mufflers/cats and X51 headers. The Borla is substantially louder, it is believe it or not..just a few steps away from having a MBP. The advantage of the Borla is it is actually very civilized if you are just cruising and aren't digging in the throttle. However, once you just crack that throttle open the car just makes the most beautiful (and quite loud) BWAAHHH. It is actually quite raw, more raw than I thought it was going to be and actually quite surprised in a good way. If I would have to characterize the sound it would be a little more deeper Tubi sound. It has quite a crisp exhaust note and the burble on deceleration with the pops and burbles (which you can actually feel) are just awesome. I will post some pics later maybe tommorrow.
Now the videos I saw of the Borla was without the 200cpi AWE (HJS) cats, and that video doesn't represent at all the noises I am hearing. It really does sound almost like a GT3 cup car.

Very cool. Glad you found the sound that you were looking for. Right now I'm running Remus mufflers only. Have X51 headers sitting in a box in the garage. I'll put those on as soon as I decide on some cats - either AWE or Fabspeed. Your install is making me anxious to get off my butt and get things done on my end!

Very nice! Definitely looking forward to the videos. I have a bunch of stuff to put on my stock 997 (AH pipes, GT3 front bumper, Cargraphic GT2 wing, Vorsteiner rear bumper), so I hope to have pics and videos posted within the next couple weeks. The rear bumper will arrive on Monday, but I will be in Cancun! I can't wait to install everything. Your post got me excited!
Enjoy,
Nick

Got them used from someone on Rennlist (adfsouth), great guy. He had them on the car for 4 days...he thought it was to loud. I think he went back to the hacked mufflers.
Wait to you hear it on a car with headers and 200cpi cats.
