Thank you. By comparison, any comments on the MAShaw wing, or their products in general? Feel free to PM me.

Is there any common opinion about this TechArt type 1 wing as shown here -
http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/997-ca...rt-type-i.html
?

I honestly do not dig all those huge rear wings like type 3,4 or this Misha one, IMHO it makes 911 original design look quite ridiculous. This type 1 is small but it looks kinda odd to me. What do you think?

Just opinion of course, but it seems like a 'why bother?' design. I suspect it does affect some improved laminar flow, which is half the point of the wing - the other being downforce. But it's so subtle as to be unattractive.
I agree that the big wings don't float my boat either. Certainly or a cab, but also seem a bit poser-like on anything but GT* cars. That said, a few on this forum (in particular that beautiful red S) have big wings on their cars that look just great.

That looks darn good. But I don't see that combo on their site (at least I don't think so). Is it the GT3 base? With what wing?
I may still stick with the duck bill, but that's the best 'aggressive' wing I've seen on a cab.
Thanks,
Verde

Verde,

It's a TechArt Type III, or a replica of it. Pretty nice.

Thanks. Took me a bit to compare the two pix (the post and the web site) to determine they were the same. Don't know if it's because it's a dark color versus silver (on their web site). I wish I could see it in white though. Anybody have a Type III on a white 'S' (preferably cab)?

Thanks very very much. Helped with two things:
That this GT3/GT2 wing works with a cab (worried about the moving cowl hitting the wing) and;
It looks great.
Now does anyone know if the Misha or MAShaw duck wing work with a cab?
This is going to be a tougher decision than I thought it would be. Still thinking that a 'retro cab' would be cool.

Another GT 2 wing - way too much for me. I love the look of the GT 2 base, which looks like exactly what Misha did for you. Really looks cool, exactly what I mentioned looking for early in the thread! Is it a modified GT2 base? If you cut off the wing supports, that's basically what you have left.

I think if Misha or other had a wing for the 997 with a rear profile like the 997TT wing, that was fixed (no hydraulics and 2nd wing blade cost prohib) and combined it with the scoop and intake w/mesh if would be great... or again any 993Turbo style to fit a 997...
I totally agree with that comment as well. The TT wing fixed - a flat wing without that much height. Everything else is too extreme for me. Looks great with the aerokit front end.

Ryem3,

It's is a GT3 base, minus the wing support.

I believe MAShaw has a TT wing now for the NB 997 on their website.

EJ-997 is infamous around these parts
I trust the wings Porsche has tested and proven in a wind tunnel. How can I be sure an after market wing does anything but look good?

I rrrrrove it! Between this and the duck bill, I would rather have this. Interesting... I wonder how the 09+ GT3 wingbase w/o the blade and aluminum hardware look like...
