Is it true that when you pull the parking brake on any of the new PDK 4 models, that it dis-engages the front axel? what does this mean? it'll act and feel like a C2S 997.2!?!?!

I have a Carerra 4S and I did give it a try. I believe it is not myth. I felt it was a bit more lively. When I called CEC wheels about a 2 months ago they asked if I tried it and I hadnt. So I immediately gave it a shot. I think it may work...but you dont leave the ebrake up. You need to be in a forward gear at a stop and pull the lever up one notch...listen for the chime and drop back down. This may only be with a PDK car...not sure about manual. I suppose a Porsche tech is the best person to ask.

Well, I haven't done any extensive testing on this but a a few times while in the snow I pulled up the hand brake one click, turned PSM off and engaged Sport Plus mode. This really allowed me to just spin the tires and get the pure RWD feeling again. So yeah... not sure if it was just the snow or combination of things but it sure felt like that trick worked... I wouldn't be doing it on a consistant basis but it was fun for a few seconds getting around some corners on fresh snow.

for 4S owners, is this written in your car manual at all?
this sounds like a great invention for changing 4WD to 2WD, even bigger than the launch control. You will assume that Porsche will use it as a marketing tactic to sell more 4S.
