362hp, 376 lb-ft, 3200 lbs. Compare that to Carrera S cab's 355hp, 295lb-ft and 3281lbs (assuming 150 lbs more for cab over 6-speed manual coupe). SLK55 will be around $60K loaded while a Carrera S cab similarly equipped will be $100K plus. Should be a nice daily driver cab.

Nice? Yeah.

Fun Factor? get the Porsche.

If dollars aren't an issue, of course.

The new Kleemann C55K S8 was reported to be ~600hp with 0-60 in 3.8s, and their SLK55K is likely to be pretty similar. The basic engine mods are under $20k. I'd still go for the Porsche personally.

It is also 3400 lbs. Really nice car, but not nearly as sporty as the 997 S. Trick top is great, even the one I had on my SLK 230 Kompressor back in the day.

I agree about the chick factor, but I do think the Brabus rear looks pretty badass

Juat saw it on TV this morning. Actually it looks much better than the 320 sport my wife had.

Not so much like a chicks car as the old one..

This should be a nice car. I drove the standard SLK 350 on the track a couple of weeks ago, and was very impressed. Well balanced, nimble, nice power delivery. The seating position reminded me a lot of my 996.

Although I drove an auto., the SLK350 will be available with a stick. Hopefully the SLK55 will eventually get one as well.

I put in an order in August for a November delivery for the SLK350
but backed out a month later because i test drove the m3 and wanted that type of performance.

I know for a fact i didnt make a mistake because my journey for a new car has led me here to the new 911! Test drove a 997 and wow i am liking it...ALOT!! Not as much kick in the ***** rawness of the m3 but other then that the 911 comes waaaay ahead in all other aspects.

Its alot more money thats for sure but well worth it on my opinion
so i guess i gotta save up a little more before im financial confident( in the process of buying house ) to put in an order for one of these babies hoping for a march delivery but could be as late as 8 or 9 more monthes.

I caught the porsche fever this things drives so freakin nice and its all i can think about right now.
