Same here, bought a Matte Black set for my black 997. I'll have them Friday, and will take pics.

thats going to stick out almost 16 mm past your stock wheel and 7mm past a 997 GT3 wheel.

too far out imo as the gt3 wheel is pretty flush as it is.

they are trying to sell you 996 offsets for your 997

The OEM wheel is 57mm for the front I thought...they will go as high as 48mm for the front. I have seen 50mm offset for the fronts with absolutely no issues.

Theres the pics of the car..looks great to me

too aggressive for my taste. also, offset is relative to wheel width. if you have an 8" front with a 57mm offset, thats 16mm less than an 8.5 with a 46

Actually it's going to be a 48mm front offset. Quite a few other manafacturers are running that offset for the front. OZ runs them at 53mm and Gomez is running a 7mm spacer on that giving him a 46mm net offset and the car looks great..

We have put many different wheels brands on the Porsche 997 and 997 GT3 and found that 19x8.5 46 to 48 offset fits perfect.

The 996 actually has a front offset from 40-45 on a 19x8.5 depending on tire selection.

I have found from personal experience all the stock wheels form Porsche no matter it be a 997 gt3rs, gt3, gt2, turbo all are conservative.

Dave,
I'm pretty sure the offset on my front above is +48. I feel the front is pretty flush, would look better if I could actually lower the car. Rears might be a bit too aggressive for me, but I just might be getting used to it.

My set with be 48mm on 8.5 with a 235/35/19 tire. I run the OEM Carerra Sport with a 5mm spacer now and my car is lowered on PSS9's without rubbing.

ABhagat,
What size tire are you running in the rear? Are you running the 295/30/19 or the 305/30/19?

Thanks man, I talked to Forgedstar and they felt the offset on the car was 47mm but then I talked to someone else who told me it was actually 48mm. The car looks great BTW, in the pic are those 305's on the back?

I am going with 235/305 setup.

Dave
