Too much? -- CPO'd 06C2S Cab, 20k miles --$63k
Seems like people getting some really good deals on C2S's these days. Unfortunately I'm limited right now and need Tiptronic (knee) which reduces the playing field considerably. Came across a certified 2006 C2S Cabriolet with 19.5k miles. Loaded with full leather, sports chrono, nav, bose, power seats. Can't get the dealer to go any lower than $63k. The car is mint. I have all the service records, vehicle history, etc. Test drive was fantastic. Car just had 20k service and new rear tires. MSRP was $111k and CPO is good til 12/2011
Is $63k just an absurd price?

Not a steal but sounds pretty good; cab prices up now that Spring is here, pretty heavily optioned, factory warranty for 30 months, car sure hasn't been hammered if they're just replacing the tires at 20,000, you sound like you love it -- I'd get it!
If you want some financial confidence watch the "buy it now" prices at ebay. I too see some of those "great deals" yakked about here on 6speed; I'd like to think that most are accurate but I know for a fact that two of the recent ones are baloney (I know the sellers). While I'm not a big fan of dealers they certainly know more about the market than 99% of us, including me. No doubt a great private sale is out there but it's a guessing game. Good Luck

$63k for this car IS absurd. For that price you should be getting a car undere 10k miles. I can tell you that I picked up a loaded 07S (non cab) with 6k miles for much less than that about a month ago. I've seen a few TIPSY cabs on ebay with asking prices under $60k. Keep looking and the right one will come along.

CPO'd from a dealer or private party? Gonna guess PP, for which $53K sounds like a pretty good deal. Coupes are going for roughly that, maybe a bit less.

Thanks. I knew you got the $53k deal which really got me thinking. Dealer is absolutely convinced that $63k is as low as they need to go. I've offered $60k and they let me walk away.
I know some bump up now that spring is here is somewhat reasonable, but with C4Ss and 2007s selling for similar prices, I just can't pull the trigger.

IMHO I think 63K is fair deal. Not the best, but fair. If this car is optioned the way you want and is your first or second choice on color, then I say make the deal. Do you have to travel or have the car shipped to get it? If you can drive it home from the dealer, that is gonna save about a 1K in transport costs. Offer 62K, and see what they say. You have to consider that you want tip, so that already puts behind the eight ball. There are not a lot of s or 4s cabs that are tip.

is that really true that prices are creeping up? Stabilization is one thing but used car appreciation is basically unheard of.

As of 2 minutes ago on Ebay there is a lightly optioned 2005 non-S 911 Tip cab with 41,000 miles; bid is $43,100 - reserve not met. Current NADA clean retail is $50,350. Seller is Princeton Porsche in Lawrenceville, NJ. Makes that 06S that Mr. bdschet started the thread with look pretty damn reasonable.
