I had a V1 for years, but got the passport and have been very happy

While the V1 is an excellent detector - it goes off far too much for my taste. It is super sensitive and does not learn what the normal false alarms are where i normally drive - and that got too annoying for me. I am not trying to start a debate, to each their own, but what sold me on trying the passport was their drive along videos and the fact I could buy it and if I didn't like it - return it in 30 days and get my money back. After the 3rd day of having it, I was sold. Within the last couple of months it has paid for itself more than a few times over in saving me from getting tickets.

There are those who will prefer to get every alert of most detections even though most will be false. I enjoy the quiet and the sound of my car more now than I did with the V1, but that's me - your mileage may vary.

I don't think you can go wrong either way.

As far as laser goes, the guys of lidar site suggested should give you a lot of food for thought.

I have a 9500ci installed in my 09 c2. The indicator light is hidden in the center console, and the screen is in the glovebox.

I love the system, and it works perfectly. Saved my *** on 101 many times. The only annoyance for me is the "You are approaching your marked location", which occurs when you are near an intersection that the GPS has marked as a camera location. I have it off for the most part in the city, but its almost always on when I'm cruising the highways.

Yes I have.

I have turned off X-band (as I don't travel through NJ or OH)
Turned off POP
and turned on 30second K-band automute

Here is where you can find the directions to reprogram

I have been using the Escort 9500ix (hardwired) and it has 'helped' me a few times, most recently yesterday morning while out fetching doughnuts for the kids (strange how that takes 90 minutes when Dunkin' is 1 mile from the house).

The 9500ci is getting very good reviews with radarroy.com .... Note that guysoflidar.com don't rate the laser shifting very highly. Checkout the 9500ci install at...

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...e-1-build.html

... and everyone loves the V1.
